Carnival of the Animals

We have been investigating the piece of music " The Carnival of the Animals" which is a musical suite of fourteen movements by the French Romantic composer Camille Saint-Saëns.

We were very lucky to have a 'hands on' music lesson from Mary-Carmel Rohloff last Monday. The children learned about dynamics, tempo and volume before trying these musical ideas out on various instruments.

I loved the Carnival of the Animals when I was a child and also Peter & the Wolf by Prokofiev. Saints Saens also wrote the wedding march we had at our wedding. Great to see you kids learning a little about classical music. From Ollie's Mum.

What a lot of fun you've had room 7. I'm looking forward to seeing your adventures in term two! Kathleen (Jim's mum)
