How much water can we use?

Room 7 has been investigating this week, how much of the worlds water human beings can actually use. We learned that most of the worlds water is salty, and not able to be used. Only 3% of the worlds water is fresh.

However, of that fresh water, most of it is either ice, or underground. Only 0.5% of the water in the world is in lakes and rivers, and able to be used by humans.

We went to the beach and made some "pebble pie charts" to show, in a mathematical way, the amount of the worlds water we humans can use.
