Science in Room 7

Recently we have been very lucky to use lots of different science equipment from the Hutt city council's "Hutt Science" organisation (http://www.huttscience.co.nz/).

Each week a box of science equipment and corresponding teaching, learning and curriculum links arrives at school, with everything ready to go. Last week we investigated acids and bases. Learning about Pukeahu National War Memorial Park

During our trip on Wednesday we were lucky enough to have 3 historians at Pukeahu National War Memorial Park tell us more about why we have a national war memorial and what the different parts of it mean.

We were able to explore the Tomb of the Unknown soldier...

...and we were also invited to lay a poppy inside the Hall of Memories.

It was a very, very interesting day and we learned so much. Thank-you to our Parent helpers!
